He...She....and Me

He...She....and Me

Dinner, dominoes, drinks, the kind of sex that makes you shake
She and He, He and Me, who's heart has to ache

Me fell in love with the distorted  idea of He
What Me didn't know is that He loved She
He flirted his way past my stone face to my smile
She thought He was hers and He lied all the while
In my minds eye Me knew that something had to be up
He smiled, Me smiled, and took another drink from the cup
It was casual from jump street, this I knew
But when I became aware of her it hurt for a few
Dinner, dominoes, drinks, the kind of sex that makes you shake
She and He, He and Me, who's heart has to ache
Me picked up the phone..."your man is telling lies"
We talked, We compared, We had tears in our eyes
He was caught up but He wasn't to blame
She and Me knew and continued to play the game
Standards aside, hearts on the fence, She and Me
Ego growing, good times flowing, anything for He
Dinner, dominoes, drinks, the kind of sex that makes you shake
She and He, He and Me, who's heart has to ache

I like this one, the use of he and me is very effective. It is a sad, sordid tale, but one that is so often repeated in this crazy world. When can we look for more posts from you.

I really loved this one, So So good and really captured the essence of three, of which I am familiar and it is truly complex. Write On...10 from me.

In the end only Me. Only Me's heart will ache. She will have pain and her heart will break. He will fill nothing but the power to move on. Just my cynical opinion. I LOVE the poem!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
