    Hope, Wish, Dream

Pulse pounding, heart racing, thoughts of you
    Tearing me to shreds inside.
The tatters of my feelings for you hang like
    Trash on a fence.

All I gave, to you, FOR you.
My heart is empty as a fool's
    Head, hollow as a drum.
But my soul, oh, my soul!

    My soul is on fire!
    Burning, hot to the touch.
Ready to love, but scared to lose.
How can I be both at once?

    Every fiber straining, yearning.
    Reaching for ecstasy, yet
    Fleeing for my very life
    From affection.

    Will I ever again suffer
    One sweet caress?
    Is happiness, is bliss
    Forever denied?

    Hands roaming, fiery kisses
On my lips, my throat, on you,
    Exploding my passion, rocking
Me to my core as our essences
    Intermingle with each other.

Hope dashed, wish denied or dream deferred?

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
