    Hurts To See:

    My eyes are open
    But is my heart?
    I loved you once
    But we fell apart
I was here watching them grow
    Teaching them all they know
    Another adventure for you again
When will all this foolishness end?
    They are the extreme ride
You dare to dream about taking
    The excitement and thrill
    The happiness and fear
You've missed more then you know
What should I say when they ask questions like these?
    Where did Daddy Go?
All I can say is, "Mommy Don't Know!"
When you decide to come home
    I look in their eyes
    No matter if I'm unhappy
I don't want them to be
I love to watch them laugh and smile
Will this go on for more then a little while?
    Do I dare to dream?
Dream a life with you in it?
I cry inside because I know...
I know I can't do this all alone anymore!
    I can't watch them hurt
It breaks my heart to see them lost
When will you realize we are all you got?

"Do I dare to dream? The poet Kahlil Gibran wrote,' Give your hearts, but not in each other's keeping, for only the hand of life can contain your hearts." I believe that if you realize that no one person can be everything you want,--like someone who knows how to play golf! ;) then, yes, dream a little. :)

So far This is my favorite sad but so good and so true to many others.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
