I AM THERE

Poem Commentary

This poem was inspired by the music and video of Reba McEntire Consider me Gone and I wrote it on 4-10-10 The video is about a man and a woman having problems in there relationship. The lady decides to leave her man and she tells him consider me gone. I thought about my life and my relationship with God and how amazing it is even through all of our doubts and struggles and us leaving him time and time again he never says consider me gone. He is always there to take us back no matter how we treat him in our daily lives.

I AM THERE

Sometimes we often wonder where life leads and who is there to catch us when we fall

Sometimes we just think there is no one to understand our needs, our wants, our desires

Sometimes we rely on only are cats or dogs affection because, after all, they give it unconditionally, only requesting your love, shelter and food to feed there hungry souls

We often doubt the love of God

We often doubt that he understands

We, or should I, only say I doubt that he is even with us or with me holding

my hand every step of the way

In times of sorrow and in times of the greatest despair I ask is He there?

What have I done to deserve my grief, my loss, my unsuccessful life?

My failures are my own and I wonder, I ask is there anyone else to carry them?

Who will forgive me when I am wrong and when I sin?

Who wants me to do the same if they wrong me?

My life is at most times a funnel in the midst of a tornado spinning and spinning out of control

I can’t hold on anymore when times are at the brink of disaster

I can’t hold on anymore when the economy is under attack

I can’t hold on anymore when our world falls from underneath my feet and you look outside and see an attack fixing to happen on you or on the world that surrounds you

You cry out for help for someone there to catch you but you only see people falling below and wonder if is it my time

Then all of a sudden there is a voice saying take my hand and walk with me

Walk with me through the valley of the shadows of death

Walk with me through the valley of loneliness and depression

Walk with me through the valley of the struggles of finances and the dreams that have slipped away

Walk with me through the valley of sin that entangles your every soul

I am there for you for I am not gone

Even when I am not the arrow to the heart of you anymore I am still there

Sister, brother grab my hand and I will take you there

You are not alone for I did carry all your failures and sins on my shoulders

I am the Alfa, the Omega, the beginning and the end and I am your God and I am your friend

No one in this life loves you more then me and I am always there

When your life takes a turn for the worse, or even for the better, you can always call my name and I will come running to lift you up

Just please put your faith in me, for I am always there, just I ask of you one thing-one thing only-to trust in my love and trust I will take you through valleys and help you get to the other side where there is a rainbow waiting and I am standing there at a gate greeting all who have trusted in me through all of their lives

I ask of you to stand there and walk through and take my hand for all of eternity and I promise there will be no more pain and no more suffering, just hold on and wait for the day where the angels will sing and we all bow down at the feet of the One who saved us all

I was just reminded that I had this poetry site with some of my poems. Have not been on in a couple of years and just now reading my comments. I know I feel ashamed. I thank you for your comments though very much.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
