I beg your pardon

I beg your pardon

I did not listen when you told me the truth.
I turned away from you, wanting to be loose.
Trying to do things on my own;
Not turning to you , when my hope was gone.
Quenching the spirit within me;
Refusing to see.
Nevertheless, you lifted me up, and opened my eyes.
I stand before you, in my demise.
Lord, I beg your pardon, for all I have done.
I beg your pardon, for it was you who helped me to overcome.
Lord, I beg your pardon, for all the things I wanted , and persued, that was not of you.
Lord, I beg your pardon, for polluting your temple within me;
for turning you away, when I did see;
for being impatient , not wanting to bear my cross.
I beg your pardon, for I know you are my way ,when I am lost.
Please, forgive me Father, Lord of all.
Give me strength, so I don't fall.
Pardon Me.
I beg your pardon.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
