    I Cried Today

    I cried today…
Just to know my country can go the right way to go instead of seeing just doe.
    I cried today…
To finally see that more see me for me and I can be who I want to truly be.
    I cried today…
When I saw black and white together on what’s right and willing to fight.
    I cried today…
When the liberty bell was rung and a civil right was won without the need for a gun.
    I cried today…
Because the dream one man can truly stand with black, white, Latino, and Asian all hand in hand.
    I cried today…
Not because a Democrat he is nor Republican he will be, but just because he is American like me.
    I cried today…
We looked past those differences, came to our senses and believe Americans are the majority consensus.
    I cried today…
Not because everything is perfect, but because we are working for it; if you are American you must adore it.
    I cried today…
Because I can truly say: It’s not the color of my skin that matters anyway. It’s the American Way.
    I cried today…
They were tears of joy, that whether girl or boy, we have no time to play with America like a toy.
    I cried today…
To know that the “majority” has no color, but are all my sisters and brothers and we are all children of an American mother.
    I cried today…
That for once I think people may see me for me, being all that I can be. Being the best American I can be.
    I cried today…
This letter is for you, whether you’re black, white or blue. Pass this on if you are an American too…
I cried for America today, but not because of a race won. Because Dr. Martin Luther King would have probably said: You know…it may be almost done. Let’s come together America.

Beautiful a message well thought out and delivered with good meter and enough repetition to hit home.

Wow phenomenal...i love the arrangement of your words. so powerful and seem to come straight from the mind not the heart. based on your writings i like your mind alot.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
