    I First Fell For You

My soul sinks, my heart grows heavy
Any and every time you walk by me
By your eyes alone, I am hypnotized
You catch me breathless, as your words unwind

When around you, I no longer know what to say
As if words were a needle in a stack of hay
With you there my tongue is tied like a knot
I stammer and stutter unlike I was taught

Your eyes vex like a sun-kissed sky
Coming and fading day and night
Even without you there, I can imagine your perfect eyes
Your perfect eyes, in which is no tall-tale lie

    Your personality embodies my thoughts
Your sweetness and kindness is sure to shock
And although you're quite a popular guy
You surprisingly yet definitely have your own mind

Just thoughts of you make me at loss of words
I say things out of place like shirts and birds
You get me thinking in riddles and rhymes
And make me wish that there was only a time

In which I could speak with you alone
And explain in real sentences and show
You all my thoughts and feelings about you
But only in a dream of a dream could this be true

It's now fair how you tease me
    By saying just simple things
Then rip my heart in two
Yet somehow I fall for you
Like I did when I first fell for you

And continually do it in ignorance
    Which is your only annoyance
That I can pick out but so unfair
That it makes my heart torn and continue to tear

How can you be the perfect guy
And yet you sit there and lie
Unknowingly, yet I still fall for you
Like I did when I first fell for you
Over and over again 'til i remember you

The way you are now instead of the way you were
When I first fell for you, then I think: "der"
And I stop stuttering, and I talk smoothly
Like you're just another guy and like I have no feelings

Then somehow you draw me closer again
And I get to thinking how you were when I first fell for you
And I go around the merry-go-round once more
Until my heart can't be further torn

    You just aren't fair sometimes
Yet you just don't understand sometimes
So I think: "Oh, he'll come through"
Then you turn around and tear my heart in two

Just like you always have since

SWEET, LIKE A NEWLY RIPENED BERRY FROM THE FIRST YIELDS OF A BUSH.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
