I Have

I Have

I have your light when I could no longer see the sun,
You saved me when the devil overstayed his welcome,

I have your tears to quench my thirst for love,
Such an energy you are a burst of;

I have your warmth to withstand the winter's cold,
And your love's youth while growing old,

The short days that turn night we're together,
I love you more as we on into forever...

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
