I Just Can't Find the Words

I just can't find the words to say what's deep inside my heart.
It's filled with so much happiness, I don't know where to start.

I heard a speech some years ago, the words so clear, so wise.
I knew that very moment that one day we'd win the prize.

From Martin's lips, we heard the dream, someday we would
    be free.
To live a life of brotherhood, God's plan, t'was meant to be.

I watched him merge into the light. Of course there would be
    drama.
How dare he seek to change the world, this man they call
    "Obama".

Armed with intelligence as his shield, integrity as his sword
It takes a whole village to raise a child, this truth we can't
    ignore.

Children should not be left to choose who they should look up to.
It's our job to be responsible. That's what real parents do.

As I watched him take his lovely bride, his family at his side,
Into the halls of history, all I could feel was pride.

The day they danced before the world, it was so clear to me,
that love, respect, and family, was their first priority

It takes more than experience to solve the problems of today.
Compassion, good sense, and diligence will help to pave the way.

Our future is based on family, encompassing everyone.
    Not only here in America
The world family must act as one.

We heard the dream of Martin, we prayed to see the day.
And now that day has finally come. Thank God we're on our way.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
