    I Loved You

    You were my everything
I would have died for you
Why did you do this to us
Didn't you know I loved you

    You treated me like dirt
Showed me no respect at all
I gave you two beautful children
But to you that didn't matter at all

You put your hands on me
Not once did I put you in jail
If that didn't prove to you I loved you
Was there anything I could have done
To let you know how much I cared?

I'm filled with so much anger
I put so much into you
I never thought the day would come
When I wouldn't be in love you

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
