    I See You

I see you as the sun comes up

    Your brightness lights my way

I see you as I fill my cup

    Refreshing every day

I see you in the birds that fly

You give my heart it's wings

I see you in the clear blue sky

And all the peace it brings

I see you in a gentle breeze

    You make my spirit light

I see you when I'm on my knees

As I give thanks every night

I see you in the rain that falls

    Clensing mother earth

I see you when a baby crawls

    Giving life its worth

I see you when the stars come out

And the sparkle in your eye

I see you when I look about

    And even when I cry

I see you when I lie in bed

As I think of you with love

I see you and the things you've said

And I thank the Lord above

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
