    Illusions in the Mind

Forever there are pictures in the mind caressing the heart to feel.  Marveling in the beauty of a tree as it sways so gently in the breeze its leaves resting softly against the blue of the sky. The blue bearing a hint of white as clouds pillow birds through their flight. I wonder can they follow the path of sunlight to the flowers below bursting with color so vivid that my eyes only comprehend as love. This oneness of vision blending gracefully with the butterfly as it flutters slowly among the petals of the flowers. Slowly my eyes focus infringing on that oneness and discovering a thorn. Is it then that by finding a thorn it makes this vision an illusion or is the beauty in the safety of the thorn that keeps the image alive?
