    I'm Eternal

Don't stand by my grave and weep for me
for I am not there, I am not asleep.
I am a thousand miles away.
I am the Diamond in the sky.
I am the sunlight that shines behind the Mountains.
I am the gentle drops of rain of fall.
When you wake in the morning light.
I am the swift uplifting breeze
    of quiet whispering angles saying
    'Good Morning to All'
I am the soft, clear, Blue Sky at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry
For I will never be there, I did not die
I am still here all around, even when you don't know!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
