Imagine…

Darkness becomes me in the light of day.

Sun shines upon me with such bright array!

The crescent moon half full but filled.

The whitest snowflakes so warm yet chilled.

Grinning yet sadness smiles upon this face!

Yearning and still longing for your embrace.

Tears falling like an endless flow.

Pain so excruciating with love’s every blow!

Awakened yet fallen to sleep.

Found but likely lost somewhere.

The shallowness is yet so deep!

A selfish heart is still able to share.

So lonely but not alone,

Many puzzled pieces, but a whole.

A soft heart yet becomes a stone.

A mate is but one soul.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
