    Indigo Sky

    Tiny pinpoints of light
    Deepest indigo sky
    Visibly white cotton like clouds

    A fortuitous break
    Brings infinite delight
Ah the wonder, a bright shooting star

    The air is turning colder
The smell of the ocean brine
And to imagine all this in my own back yard

This peace here in the dark,
    The silence and stillness...
Speaks to me in near deafening tones.

    It’s purely amazing...
    Electrical etheric beauty...
Vast depthless expanse as far as I can see.

    The birds now silent,
    And the night creatures stirring...
The breeze swirls up to caress my face.

    Blades of grass,
    Shimmering in the moonlight...
As things once seen recede into the shadows.

If only I could stay here in this moment...
No torment, no fear, no breakneck pace,
Only me, in the dark with my tiny bright friends.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
