    It really is

    Feels like a dream
    felt like reality--
be so aware of this moment...

    We waited for the signal,
arms in hers. Beauty and Grace
    standing between us.

    We proceeded across
    the little wooden footbridge
    flanked by tall grasses,
    up the hill...through the gazebo,
    a slight hesitation
    as our route changed.
an almost imperceptible alteration from rehearsal,
    entering through another portal,
a slow descent towards the full rows of seats,
    heading straight towards the aisle.

    The Bride emerging Glorious
in the clearing of the woods.
    Tall and slender, gorgeous
and Strong, she walked, almost gliding
    between us.

I stole a look at faces I knew
    while we passed,
Feelings started to flood my face.
My feet and gait measured hers and ours,
like a stately waltz in tandem,
    part of a procession
    moving forward.

I stole a look at her,
    feeling her slender, solid strength,
    slight nervousness contained.
    Arriving to her soon-to-be husband,
Hugs from her father, and me,
Our part in the ceremony was over....
and her new part was just beginning.
    I love you, darling daughter.

This is such a beautiful and emotional piece! So many moments, poignant and surreal. You have captured the magic and the joy of that momentous day exquisitely!

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
