It's supposed to be a sad day

I see you laying there so peacefully, your eyes are closed
this is supposed to be a sad day, but nobody crying, everybody
laughing like nothing happen this is supposed to be a sad day.

I remember when i was a little girl all the fighting and aguring,
we could never get along, maybe i'll cry tomorrow or maybe
next week, this is supposed to be a sad day, but nobody's
crying everybody laughing like nothing happening, this is
supposed to be a sad day.

The sun is shining of so brightly, not a cloud in the sky,
it seems so peaceful, this is supposed to be a sad day,
but nobody crying everybody laughing like nothing happening,
this is supposed to be a sad day.

Tomorrow our lives go on without you, i just want to say goodbye,
but i don't feel like crying, this is supposed to be a sad day,
but nobody crying everybody laughing like nothing happening.
this is supposed to be a sad day.

I see you laying there so peacefully, this is supposed
    to be a sad day.

I totally got what you meant with this... A sad irony sometimes, someone we love, or know, or just was just around us that affected us, parts this world... At the ceremony, far too many people show up, but remain indifferent about it... Sometimes, I wished people would just act like what they're feeling when they're feeling it... Albeit, good, bad, or doesn't matter either way... Wouldn't it be great, just to know...??? A very good write...

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
