It's You!

It's You!

It's YOU!

I'm talking to you!
The uneducated..the unsure..
The over educated, the most confidant.
I'm talking to you!
The hurt, the abused..
the angered, the one filled with sorrow.
The one who cries, and
the one that laughs out loud.
I'm talking to you!
The one with so little money,
the one with to much money.
The one with no hope..
the one who's weeping alone.
You, it's you I am talking to.
The one drinking one more drink..
the one with the needle..or pills..
The one with a stranger in your bed.
I'm talking to you!
The one who blames everyone else for their misfortune.
The one who has overworked to prove their wrong.
The one who lies in bed all day, suicidal thoughts slowly winning.
The one who seeks blood, the one who freely gives their bodies!
It's you!
The one who is hard, and needs no one..
The one who clings to everyone.
The one who never smiles...
The one who has fought for a country, and forever changed.
I'm talking to you..
The one with children with many fathers.
The one who chose abortion, adoption..
the one whose child is no longer here.
To the one who can't forgive..
others or themselves.
The one who does not know..
The one who is aged,
the one that is new..
yes, I'm talking to you.
For the one who is imprisoned,
the ones who have reached the bottom,
and to those that reach the top..
It is you!
For whosoever believes in Jesus, shall not perish, but have everlasting life!
It is you!
Because God so loved the world...it...is...you!

Salvation doesn't have to be repetitive and dreary. Find some happy notes. They are also you, aren't they? A poem like this is only addressing the hell in life, and life is not always hell. Don't give the reader only hell. Give them salvation too, and not just in the last "punchline" of God. God gave them so much more.

interesting critique.. I went from the most down to the most up of society..never focusing on just dreary..this poem was created for those people who have no hope, who never heard of Jesus..I know, I grew up as one of them. The one thing I needed to hear was that He wanted "ME"! That is what this poem is about, the "come as you are" that the salvation that comes from Jesus Christ is for any and all....the poem isnt talking about only hell at all, it reaches all people in many situations....I write poetry that appeals to all, not just makes life appear to be sunshine and rainbows..reality is, many people are here..and they just need to hear the message, that it is them He seeks!! thank you for your comment

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
