    Poem Commentary

I worte this to my little dog, Ivory.

    I love you,
    You smell like heaven,
    I love you,
    And there is nothing wrong,
    I love you,
    You are white and puffy,
When you run you look like a bunny,
You are my sweet little honey,
    You push my seven buttons,
    But I love you anyway,
    You are mine forever.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
