    kaleidoscope

What do you see when you look at me?
Do you see me yellow?, or do you see me gold?
    Complex patterns springing forth
From all the stirring, mixing, twisting
    I am a multi-chrome story yet untold

I am filled with color vibrant
From my head down to my toes
What do you think is missing
When you stare at me so bold and find yourself wishing
You knew the color of my soul?

I am neither black nor white
If you tried to guess you
    Would not get it right
Because inside of me bounces light so bright
It causes all that is dark within to flee
And  so my spirit is set free to be all that i can be

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
