    Late at Night

Late at night as I lay beside you,
I stare into nothing, and wonder why.
Late at night as you hold me against you,
I weep into your shoulder, and wonder why.
Late at night as time goes on by,
I look at your face so serene, and wonder why.
Late at night I doubt your love for me,
    and you are blissfully unaware.
