    Letter To My oppressor

Cognigating I've come to this conclusion.
Forgive me. Forgive me! the intrusion,
    into your europeon oasis.
The way you hate me, what is the basis?
My full lips, leave me subject for oppression.
Maybe it is my sullen expression.
My kinky hair hangs in braids down my back.
Could this be why I'm under attack?
My red skin a reminder of my people.
Brutalized my mothers, impaling them on your steeple.

There in the mirror above my dressor.
Lies the accusations of my oppressor.
My blood, my tears, my scars, maybe my life?
If I derived from greatness, why such strife?
Maybe I'm wrong bringing up ol' drama.
Time for a change. Obama! Obama!!

    Motivation!!!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
