Working from sunup to sundown with little money biting the snake of the man
Pretty women STILL wonder where my secret lies
With the thrust of determination I walk through life's adversity
As morals and responsibilities go out the window for some
The distinction of a person is within their actions
It's not what's in, but inside
Beauty is only skin deep like hte Temps and according to his word, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder
I'm only 21, but going through the same shit as a 16 year old
With boys and men claiming to be a man, claim to be ballin, claiming how they want a "good black woman", claiming to get checked in return leaving us with the ecipedmic of HIV/AIDS-STI's-robbed of our innocence and pride, claiming to be in school but not, claiming to be the perfect person but not
Did I leave one in the past and just now knowing?
Can't dwell on the past or false fantasies, gotta keep stepping
With the ecomony, women are taking on bigger roles
Working 3 jobs, being mommy and daddy, taking time out on Sunday to keep her family inline
Raheem Davaugh said it best: "You betta find you one, a Strong Woman"
To my ladies that take no bullshit from these niggas, or get used, mistreated and abuse, your labor is not vain. You made it this far, you have a testimony.
To my niggas a.k.a. boys, the same lady that didn't give it up on the first night or wasn't complying to your wishes, demands, or standards; that same lady was your good black woman
Oh but don't try to chase her, she's moving into her destiny without you

Too bad one has to have so much grit to move forward. But you have learned so much so soon. i think you are one who will make it. this creation is as much philosphy as poetry, or more so, but a fine read, nonetheless.

thank you sir! I appreciate it.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
