Poem Commentary

This is my first poem... written in 1977 when I was 17 years old. Namaste'... Cynthia Ann

Lost Time

Reaching new understandings
 of the ever present roles
        that we play.
continually searching my mind
for the true meaning behind
        what we say.

                             Lost time before waking hours,
                             so called reality shatters dreams
                             and again dawn brings realization
                                   nothing is as it seems.

My head becomes filled with abstract visions,
              often clouded by love.
Vague memories and forgotten promises,
remind me what we're made of.

I'm holding on to my dreams
                and
watching a slowly dieing pain
realizing that clutching the past
    is what leaves the stain.

                              Lost time before waking hours,
                              so called reality shatters dreams
                              and again dawn brings realization
                                    nothing is as it seems.
