    Poem Commentary

growing up with the type of mother i had has made me both week but then again strong

    love or fear

    a mothers love
    it comes naturally you know
    its nothing you can fake
    its nothing you can grow.
    a mothers love
    keeps you happy and warm
its a bond you cant break
it cant be witherd or torn.
but is a childs love always love
    or sometimes is it fear
to make a childs hair stand up on end
    or want to disappear.
to make her happy is your goal
for you know every thing is right
    her sweet words of love
lullabies you to sleep through the night.
    then anger once again
    shows its ugly wicked face
as you see your personal belongings
    thrown all over the place.
terrible words come screaming grom her mouth
as she makes you feel so small
when happiness just a day ago
    made you feel so tall.
    my mother is gone now
in heaven i hope she'll be
    as good and bad memories
    will always stay with me.
    and somewhere in the shadows
    i always feel her near
and sometimes i have to wonder
is that lve? or is it fear?

if this poem is confusing i'm sorry. it's about a girl who would do anything for her mom who is emotionaly and mentally challenged, the one throwing any tantrums was my mother. so my questions remain did i do all that I did because of love or fear?

Starts offf very pleasant and then takes me to a strange place. I got an image of a child that throws temper tantrums. I got a mother's reflection on her relationship with her mother as compared to her relationship with her daughter. i think fear is a close derivative of Love. Nice work.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
