    Loves unquenched Desire

It's been so long since I wanted you
Hope overtook me with your words of encouragement
Looking into your eyes of a sea of blue
Wanting grew into a need for you, unquenched.

You brought forth a passion in me
That I was sure died a long ago
    You became my fantasy
Holding you and never letting go.

Your kindness and tenderness enveloped my soul
As I looked for defects, I found a person so rare
And I wanted to give you solace and show
The security my love has and that I care.

Wanting to take away all your pain
Enveloping you with all my love
    Fearing I must be insane
Or is this really a feeling called love?

"I love you" is what I hear in my mind
Every day as I go about my life
Knowing I may never find love
    From you returned in kind.

As each day goes by, I will try to forget
My tears of love unquenched will become less
And I will go forward on my journey
    Letting go for evermore.

My pain like yours is to the bone, And her's like his only she's not gone. Still dreams of her have healed my soul, But unlike you I can't tell her so. Thank you in advance because I'm going to read your words to my wife of 33 years and tell her that someone knew how I felt about her. rj2425

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
