    Make Over

A face filled with memories a stranger in the mirror.
A fading image looks at me a sadness fills the air.
As I remove my lipstick I see the endless lines.
As I remove my lashes that hide an ugly scar.
As I remove my blush I see revealing pain.
As I remove my pencil I see what remains.
Behind all that makeup there is a face of fear.
But inside she remains unmade, untouched, unexistng, unknown.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
