    MARYJANE

    What a name

    Marijuana is an herb

    So I’ve heard

    A plant for medicine

    Yet seldom unheard of

When all the herbs come from

    The Creator above

    Some call it weed

    A good seed indeed

    Cancer victims may take it

    Reasonably

    Aid victims use it

    For stress they say

    Could this be real

    Medicine found in the field

    Works exactly like a pill

    Research has it labeled illegal

The land yielded fruits given from God

    To use with wisdom

    Given unto the wise

    Oh shake it America

    Stop listening to the lies

Mary Jane is active in the world today

    Approve it for medical relief

Then walk away from your disbelief

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
