    May I Please

Stop it, that’s mine, not me, who said, why not, can I please, I didn’t do it, your mean, stop looking at me, stop touching me, its my turn, that’s not fair, I’m telling, stop making faces at me, he did it, she hit me, are we there yet, they are making fun of me, my tummy hurts, I don’t want to go, just one more piece, can I stay please, I promise I will be good next time, I hate him, she hates me, but why, why, why, why, well then because I said so, I didn’t say that he did, but I really do need it, but so and so’s let him, Just give me the keys, I’m running away, I hate you, you are ruining my life! I love you

Regardless of how annoying all of this may seem, if you truly look at there request you will find that each and every child is specially enter twined. It’s the individuality that they all seek; it’s the independence from within that we all must keep. Without demanding there rightful spots just think where they would be? They claim there territories like an animal in the wild and sometimes we forget that they will not always be a child. If not now then when would you like for them to grow? If we could pause them until later just think about how much they wouldn’t know

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
