  • Do not care about fame, be modest. In this way you will be found by others to be SPECIAL...

MEMORY LANE September 11, 2009 9:20pm

The night is still young

The brightness of the moon engulfs me

As I sat here alone on the rooftop

Wishing you were here with me

Looking back at the beautiful memories we had

Hoping that in the end we would still be together

Wishing that fate would allow us

Forbidden love they say this is

I don’t want to believe

What other people say or think

I know I am more than happy now

To have you in my life is more than what I dreamed of

But now it all began to change
You left for a reason

I don’t want to accept nor understand

I’m still hurting until now

I just hope and pray that you did the right thing

I’m willing to let go for you to be happy

Just don’t forget our beautiful memories together

Though I don’t know how long I can take this

Remembering everything makes me smile

At times, it makes me sad

The night is still young

The brightness of the moon still engulfs me

gave me chills ... acceptance, complete ... but questioning whether one has the strength to follow this path thru ... the sweetness of gratitude and the willingness to let preciousness touched fly free as it must ... this is what your words evoke in me ... a beautiful, almost haunting write; thx for the post!

Such sorrow and pain written in your words. I hope you move on soon. Broken hearts come with mankind. I do hope you find your soul mate someday, because he was not it. Heal soon and explore some more.

Come on hany...get down off that rooftop before you fall over the side of your make-believe, fractured, ivory tower. Now, is this the same guy that broke your heart in your other poem ? If so, send him this poem (unless you already did) and he will come back to wipe your tears away...

the first stanza is good but the last line of it is a little wordy, the rest though nicely written is more like a letter than a poem or maybe a diary entry an it has a good flow to it but no rhyming at all. I know rhyming isnt popular in poems these days but it makes it hard to distinguish between a letter and a poem. you can delete this if you like
