Mirrored Vision

A clear path of vision for tree limbs
No longer cluttered by leaves
Leaving me clarity that beamed
In books and off a set of keys
But I still am afraid
As I wash my face
And stare at myself in the mirror
Greeted by a spider
Sliding on the glass
Scared of his own reflection
He travels over my image
From my shoulder, across my face
I had a chance to smash him
Or just wipe him with my towel
That would rid his presence
No book will teach you this
No secret unlocking this problem
He crawled behind the glass
Between the mirror and the wall
I still can kill him, If I want
Smash my fist against the mirror
Smashing him between
Bloodied knuckles would result
But I'll see him again, I always do
The spider, I am convinced
He is my ritual, keeps me balanced
But its hard to stand on your head
Tree limbs are happy
Their vision makes them secure
Yet they don't see the spider
Who still haunts my path
Persuading visions of my past
When may I sway in the wind?
So funny, I do know how
Looking out the window
With keys in my pocket
Books on the floor
Spider blindlessly hides
I walk out the door

Interesting coloration. Man verses spider. I like it...I feel as if I can see you...standing there...shaving cream on your face...wife-beater tee-shirt. Musing about the spider, then applying it to yourself. Nice...easy...calm...Good!

Well...mas versus rituals, rituals that cuase grief...tree limbs are my parents...books and keys in my hand to unlock life's questions...yet I have a hard time using keys and books to my advantage because I seem to be addicted to grief, or just the ritual, often it seems thats what I know and its hard to get out of that way of life, I have the chance to smash this ritual and apply a new way of life, but I just walk away...who am i kidding though, i do pretty well...there are few things though people never kick, regardless of how well off they are and how much they know the asnwert is out there, just hard to change from a rythem...

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
