    Misery

    I am in misery

Compelled by thine own heart to decieve

Transgression and strife my only refuge

Constant sickness and greed by envious lusts

    I stifle my anger

Trying to be what others want and need

Not understanding the hatred that lives within them

Only feeling the pressure that it puts upon me

    I am dying inside

Memories of once was that can nolonger be

Imaginative characters in this play called life

Here I am in pure ignorant bliss

    I am in misery

    good, but short

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
