Our Responsibility

Our Responsibility

What is this world we live in so cold
All I ever wanted was to be held
To be talked to like my opinion matters
To not have to defend my beliefs
Who are we really
Passing judgements on one another
Looking pass the things that matter
And actually fueling rage that has been stewing for years
Hatred isn't a new problem
It only has new faces
Some so young that it's sickening
Who teaches a child to hate
Who looks for mercy
Then spits on his brother in disgust
Pretending to be flawless
There is nothing pure about a hardened heart
I'm pushing pass the stupidity
I want more for my children
For my children's children
Let's open our hearts and minds
This is OUR world
OUR responsibility

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
