    Miss America

    Your crown is crooked--

Worn gown with a stained frown

    Your tag displays sold

    Your photos are gold

    Who did judge your illicitness?

Did those whom you spiteful mocked?

    Your face shone like rubies,

    Did you know?

    Accompaniment for a crown,

    A high priced temporary mansion.

Don’t drink fine wine before its time

Les’ it tarnish your crown and gown

    Look up Miss America!

    Oops! you sat down

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
