moon man

    moon man

On the planet that orbits our planet, on its rocky surface

Perhaps millions of years ago, or mayhaps more recently

three tremendous impacts from Steller wanderers

    who’s wanderings

    wandered them

a bit to close to the wanderings

    of our fellow wanderer.

Lay down three scars that resemble

    One mouth, and two eyes.

And the splashes of below the surface moon stuff

left, to mans wondering eyes, at least,

that not to hard to imagine face we still perceive today.

But which face, is the face

of the Man in the Moon?

    I see three

One faces to the east, and has a, sort a, kind a,

disapproving look, with just a hint of nose in it.

The other stands on its head, with a dusting of freckles

    where a nose might be.

And the third looks to the south-ish with a look

    of surprise or perhaps horror.

    With no nose at all.

    Of course the east

    and south-ish

Is wholly dependant on what time or what part

    of the arc

of the moons path from up till down, or rise and set.

And I suppose also of the continent you inhabit, but maybe yea or maybe

    nay.

I am not sure, after all I am no scientist, or is it skyentist ?

But all this aside, I still see three

I call them the kid, the dowager and the sentry.

The kid seems to me, to be, a might unhappy

with his perpetually upside down position

and what the dowager is pruning her lips at is a mystery to me

is it the earth, the conditions we have made?

    Our attitude toward each other?

    Diet soft drinks?

Sugar free ice cream? I just don’t know.

And what is it the sentry sees with his continent sized eyes?

    And from what direction exactly?

Is it some arrant heavenly body streaking towards us?

Is the earth about to receive an eyeball of its own?

    A pretty girl moon?

    Who knows?

And after all its just craters right?

    Right?
