Mrs. Tar is dead

Our father left us in her care. Me and my sister and her teadybear. She locked us in a closet day and night. We didn't have any food and we were left out of sight. We heard a knock at the door.I yelled that I couldn't take it any more.I fealt sick and wanted to lay in the bed.An officer told us that our suffering was over because Mrs. Tar was dead.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
