    My Beautiful Son

I held and rocked you each night to sleep,
‘Till the day you were born for God to keep.
Too small were you to cradle within my arms,
Too big was all your beauty and charms.
So small and precious within my hands,
My heart so full yet tied with bands.

I touched your tiny little hands, no warmth to be found.
I touched your tiny little feet, as cold as the ground.
You were so beautiful to me, my love,
I will love you always in Heaven above.

I thank God above for the gift you gave,
The hundreds of sorrows that you may save.
Your life so short, yet full of meaning,
Right from the start, a Heavenly being.
I love you so, in spite of my sorrow,
I will cherish you, with every tomorrow.
