    My Brother after the War

    My older brother
    Feels like another
    Since back from the war
He's not very happy any more
    Ryan is always stressed
He now has a wound on his chest
    He's not the same
    What a shame
    So I say bye
    Ryan you're a new guy

Everyone I knew who went to VietNam came back quite changed, quite subdued, quite unwilling/unable to return to their former selves. I understand how you must feel about your brother, and, I, too, would like for him to know his service to his country is appreciated.

Jc, how sad, but unfortunately frequently true. Tell him I said "Thank You for serving". I hope he finds peace as I had to after the Vietnam War. You might want to check out my poem "Childhood Toys" in this week's poetry contest. It's about the ones that didn't make it back alive...

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
