    My Farm In Heaven

    I know you miss me
    Since I have gone,
    I want my farm
    To carry on.
    My farm on Earth
    Was great you see,
    But now God has fixed
a farm in Heaven for me!
    The corn's so tall
    You can't see the tops,
    Such beautiful tobacco
    And plentiful crops.
    My John Deere tractor
    is layered in gold,
    My crops never die
    because it never gets cold.
Now you see how happy I am?
So put on a grin and
    wipe off that frown.
I can still see your smiling face,
And here in Heaven,I'll save you space.
    Keep your heads held high
    And remember with Grace....
This is a gorgeous John Deere place!

Written in memory of my step-father Joe.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
