    MY GIRLS

I REMEMBER HER EARTHDAY LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY
SWEET LITTLE THING CAME ON EARTH CRYING TO BE ATTENDED
LORD LET HER BE ALL THAT I FAITHFULLY PRAYED
DOC SHE LOOKS SOOOO VERY SPLENDID
A BEAUTIFUL PRINCESS MINE FOREVER AND EVER
LEAVING HER WILL BE NEXT TO NEVER

GUARDED HER WITH ALL MY MIGHT
TAUGHT HER ALL I COULD AS A FATHER SHOULD
THINGS SHE WOULD KNOW TO GROW UP RIGHT
MY GIRL SHOULD BE MORE THAN GOOD
A PRINCESS DEVELOPING INTO A QUEEN
EVERYDAY SHE'S THE BEST I'VE EVER SEEN

HERE COMES MY OTHER PRINCESS OF LOVE
SHE'S RIGHT THERE AND I'VE MADE A VOW TO NEVER LEAVE
ALTHOUGH SHE CAME MANY YEARS I'M STILL GLAD
I TOLD HER ON HER EARTHDAY THAT I'LL ALWAYS BE THERE
NO MATTER WHAT SHE'S THE APPLE OF MY EYE
I MISS HER SO UNTIL I'M TIRED TO CRY

MY GIRLS ARE THE LADIES OF MY LIFE
LEAVE THEM NOT IS NOT MY WAY
AS A FATHER I'VE GOT TO DO WHAT'S RIGHT
COME SIT BY MY SIDE GIRLS TILL THE DAY I DIE
I LONG FOR THE DAY THEY BOTH CAN SAY
MY DAD WAS THER WITH LOVE ALWAYS

Your words depict a heart of true love for his children. To be their protector and wanting to lift them up to be all they can be. It touches my heart.

Thanks and I'm trying to keep them sane in this insane world

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
