My Mind Dances

My Mind Dances

Toes dug deep
in the cool
submissive sand.
An imperfect sunset-
gray and paling
peeks meekly from
behind a wall of clouds.

Sustained by
warm coffee,
a hot head,
and a cold heart,
my mind
dances.

Very brief, but I feel it could have explained why your mind danced with a little bit more detail. Still, I understand the point and I appreciate your effort. Keep trying.

ah, this is beautiful and descriptive ... i can feel the beach ... and love the lines "a hot head, / and a cold heart" ...

The imagery is very effective and it's clear that your state of mind is much like the horizon you reveal.

I like this! We have all been there! Anger can often be the perfect muse to inspire unusual gems like this one! Good work!

Not too happy, but gritty and real. One can see your backbone, and the set of your chin against the wind. Submission is for others.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
