    My Only Regret

My life changed the night we met,
Hurting him is my only regret.
I have done some things I can't take back,
Hopeing to get my life on the right track.
Then one day I found him again,
Trying so hard, his trust to regain.
My heart belongs with his forevermore,
Right now it feel like its bleeding onto the floor.
Now I know how he felt when I hurt him so,
I should have never listened to the people who didn't know.
Our love was, I thought, easily seen by everyone.
Oh Lord, what have I done?!
I lost the one who knew me well,
So now in the hole I shall dwell.
Praying someday he will return to me,
If not, alone I shall always be.
He knew the real me inside,
I need someone in which to confide.
People tell me to just let him go,
Our love for each other they will never know.
Oh Lord, I need your help so much,
Everday I long for his loving touch.
How much longer till he will see,
That he doesn;t have to hide when he's with me?
Our love is like the river, a constant flow with no end.
Please, Oh Lord, let him know I love him more that just a friend.

Some misspelled words make this otherwise very nice poem not as clean as I would have liked to see. However, it has a nice rhyme scheme, and flows pretty well. Overall your angst and emotion comes through in this one.

Is a regret known at the moment it is born? I think not, does it linger too long- always. I used to think and still do, I would do it all over again without changing a thing, the years gone by ... I'm not as sure. Good read, therapy perhaps for you and all that read. Don't forget to pick up the pen again

    Your love song echoes loudly!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
