    My Petal; His Stem

My petal is the top of his stem. When he grows tall and slim I spread wide and beautiful. His stem is the root of my petal. When his day is all weepy my day is also.He is all leaned over making me close up. When he gets watered we rise again. My petals all soft and white and his stem all nice and green. Both of us together we makes up a beautiful flower. My petals may fall off, but with the help of his stem I grow new ones. His stem has the love to keep us together. My petals is the dreams of his stem.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
