    My Sky...

Tonight I'm doing something totally different, I'm looking to my sky...
As I type these words to pour out my feelings, the clouds are changing before my eyes.

There are four beautiful clouds staring at me as they dance around the heavens. I'm staring at the biggest cloud right now- the most beautiful cloud ever- It is spinning joyfully across my sky, and shining golden light as it goes by. It is lovely and intriguing, with a mind all it's own. I watch and stare in delight as this cloud moves toward home. It is such a humble cloud, it doesn't recognize it's own beauty, I hope that one day this lovely cloud will look & see exactly what I see.
The next cloud in my beautiful sky is one that seems quite bizzy, never sitting still, constantly on the move this cloud is pure energy. It moves swiftly through my sky and stops only to smile at me.
It seems this cloud has a humor about it and only ceases from action- when I smile back at this beautiful cloud it moves along with great satisfaction.
I watched as the first two floated aside- to a place to sit in my sky.
Just when I thought all was finished in this sky of mine- another cloud came into view and the brilliance of its rays began to shine. This cloud seemed to have about it an interesting sort of wisdom. It seemed to know as much I knew, though this cloud was not a big one. It seemed the cloud shared a moment or two rapturing my thoughts, once it shared all it knew it happily floated off- and found a place next to the first two and there comfortably it sat.
The fourth cloud was just starting out, a tiny little thing, but it seemed it was quickly picking up on what it means to be big. It seemed to have a little attitude- but one that is just so cute. In my sky the little cloud danced and commanded attention too. It seemed as though it needed a kiss to help it get on its way, I blew a kiss at this little cloud and it smiled and hurried away- it sat right next to the third cloud I had seen. All in a row these clouds sat in my sky and seemed to smile at me. Any time I'm feeling blue and struggling through my day, I simply look to my sky and know in my heart it will be okay.

Very nice. Like you, I love to watch the clouds and wonder.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
