    Webs...

Half the night for many years, I’ve been awakened by my thoughts. Entangled in a massive web in search of what is called hope. To thoroughly investigate I’ve traveled every route, to come out with a clear answer free from any doubts. May take more time than I can bear, yet I cannot escape…I’m adhered to your web.
My feet were strong and willing to begin; traveling the maze to see where it ends. With blocks at every intersect I pushed ahead thinking it best. Knowing that somehow I could influence the thing I wished to see. Admirably sturdy in my belief that this web would untangle for me. Section to section it became harder to visualize the hope I so long searched to find, slowly it dwindled to just a glimmer, but on I pushed with good intentions.
In every corner I seemed to find another twist in this web of mine, shadows showed a hint of hope, only for so long as it took to get close. My feet started to become confused, my heart was leading their every move, wishing to not be defeated and dreaming to behold what was needed.
Finally I saw ahead a prism, and tried to move close to touch its brilliance. I found my feet had lost their will, my mind, and heart no longer believed it real. Exhausted from their weary travels, no motivation left to keep them active, ready to sit and watch from a far, convinced this vision was just a mirage. After believing for so long, the search for hope has come and gone, and now no matter how hard I try, an illusion is all I believe I’ll find.
So sad to see it slips away; so sad to have believed and then lost all faith. Webs that seem to have no end, leaves one trapped within its spin. Death to the search for hope, death to trying to will what won’t. Life to believing what you know to be truth. Life to the end… of the web of a fool!
