No Longer

No longer will I give them the pleasure of my tears.
No longer will I give them the pleasure of my emotions.
No longer shall I let them toy with my heart,
For I am beyond them all.

I will pick myself back up when I fall,
I will have no help of others.
I will be who I choose to be,
And not let others judge me.

I pity those who laugh at me because of who I am,
For they are all the same.

You feel sorry for me,
But I need not your pity.
For I will live happily until I die,
Of that I have no doubt.

When my body decays beneath the ground,
And my life is over with..
My soul will carry on forever,
In the hearts that I have deeply touched...

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
