no one knows

no one knows

No one to see, or touch or smell,
it just seems out of reach.
Blasting through my mind with that same question,
will anyone ever know? Will I ever find out?
undone by the face of my own destiny,
knocked to the ground over and over.
Will I ever find the answer, won't someone say,
stop lieing, and dieing, and just start trying to give me a straight answer.
Will I know or will I not, just stuck in the unknown,
I'll just guess, and hope I land where I should.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
