Poem Commentary

this is a new poem written and rewritten today. i'm not sure why but i seem to be using birds and/or flying in one form or another. this was actually sparked by a prompt from a site called writer's digest i believe. i actually read about in a blog i follow. of course, comments, suggestions, critiques i hope for.

north

just the dark

just a dream with

stark voice

falls foul with

vowels and wounds

dusts a trail of

boneless deceit

memory of shadows

forgotten

my mind goes hollow

in murk of light

gone wrong

black

lost migratory routes

changes revolve my

perception

this deception

leaves me

clawed to a

corner

i can’t find

listen wings shrouded

never seen

unfold under air

hard clouds endure

as endless loop

heaven cries

birds flock

the darkness

only dreamt

enfolds

entrusts

encompasses

me to leave

as birds flee

north where

heaven never

shines
