Nothing

Nothing

What’s it mean to be nothing

To think your alone

To feel unloved

See all your friends get married around you

While you return to an empty home

No ones in your bed

No one wants to be in your Heart

Life moves on

Whether you’re ready or not

Those friends have kids

Feels like their looking down on you

Feel like a failure

Live the best you can

But that’s not enough

Still unloved, unmarried

Don’t feel alive like this

Trying not to feel like the past is the only thing you’ve ever had

Or lost memories the only Love you’ve ever felt

So hard to smile around those that make you feel like a failure

To spend holidays around their families

Seeing all the Love they have in their lives

When all you have are unanswered hopes

Failed dreams and relationships

Your life isn’t over

Stronger than that

You have Faith

A purpose

You may feel like nothing

But your everything to those that call you family

Your something to those that call you friend

They may never understand what it feels like

To be alone, unloved in the Heart

But you know the meaning of Nothing

Cause that’s how you see yourself

Without a ring

Being unmarried in your late twenties can be hard, when every one you've grown up with is married with kids...Loneliness wants to sting the Heart.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
