Oh Lord might I ask why

Oh Lord why do you take our loved ones to be with you
Do you not think, that we need them too
You have so many,  and we have so few
I ask you Oh Lord, why do you need them with you

I looked up into the sky and let out a cry
I ask you lord, Please give me a reply
I hung my head down and continued to cry
All of the sudden, he sent to me, his reply

Their work there on earth has been done well
I need them here now,   So mine, will one day be to
They'll all help me get ready to welcome more
For one day, You'll all come through my door

You to will set at my table as others will do
You will drink from my glass as I offer to you
You will eat of my bread that I give unto you
One day you will set at my table with those
I have but loaned unto you
We will all rejoice as one family
              As family should do

This is beautiful. I guess we've all asked the same questions when we lose someone dear to us. I lost my daughter and grand-daughter about a year apart, and it was almost more than I could bear. I also write songs, and one day He sent me my answer in the form of a song I had to write called 'Borrowed Angel' I posted the lyrics on here if you would like to read it or you can listen to it on my myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/arguswaynecoonts

Beautiful poem. I understand your question because I too have asked the same question. I have accepted that regardless to the pain in our heart and emptiness we know not the day or the hour.

Thank you for your kind and thoughtfull words, It's nice to know that others share the same feelings.

Poetry is what is lost in translation.
